近幾年來，DVD挾着高清晰度的視頻影像質量和攝人心魄的杜比AC－3音響等優勢“殺”入了我們千家萬户，成為最主流的視頻影像壓縮格式。可是我們也為那一部電影就動輒4,5個G的容量而犯難，很想把DVD電影放到硬盤上來看，可我們那本就不“富裕”的硬盤就相形見絀了。今天我們來説説另一種新的數碼影像壓縮編碼新技術，它就是被有些人稱為“DVD殺手”的DivX（也叫DivX－MPEG4）。播放這種編碼的視頻，對機器的要求不高，CPU只要是300MHz以上、64M內存和一個8M顯存的顯卡就可以流暢地播放了。採用DivX的文件小，圖像質量好，一張CD-ROM可容納120min的質量接近DVD的電影。

DIVX發展歷史

在2000年初，DivX剛推出時，曾經驚動了互聯網，由於DivX的技術，以及DVD的密碼被解破後，讓DVD影片可經互聯網流傳開去，而DivX技術的畫質和DVD質素看也看不出有什麼分別，容量僅為DVD的1/3甚至1/4，更可以下載字幕檔案，利用DivX的播放軟件在電腦上播放。2003年，DivX開始進行設備認證計劃，旨在讓用户在電腦以外的屏幕也能欣賞到DivX數字視頻，並推出了第一台獲得認證的品牌DVD機。2007年秋，DivX收購專業視頻壓縮技術提供商——德國MainConcept。2008年，來自一線品牌廠商的更多產品獲得認證，包括電視機、藍光機、手機、遊戲機。2009年，DivX格式獲得主要好萊塢電影公司的認可，包括華納兄弟、派拉蒙影業、獅門影業、索尼電影和Starz。分發DivX正版視頻的網上商店遍佈歐洲和美國。2010年10月，DivX公司被Sonic Solutions收購。2011年2月，因Sonic Solutions被Rovi公司收購而成為旗下企業。2013年，DivX推出HEVC解決方案；DivX認證設備超過10億台；DivX軟件下載量超過10億次。2014年DivX推出兼容MPEG-DASH的解決方案 DivX Live，包括視頻點播和實時傳輸。2014年3月31日，DivX正式被私募股權投資公司Parallax Capital Partners 和 StepStone Group收購。

DIVX軟件

DivX軟件包含四部分：DivX Player（播放器）、DivX Web Player（網頁播放器）、DivX Converter（轉換器）和DivX Codec Pack（編解碼器包），支持MPEG-4, H.264和最新H.265標準的視頻到4K分辨率，並都有Windows和Mac的版本

。DivX播放器可以解碼常見的網絡視頻格式，包括AVI、DIVX、MKV、MP4。同時內置DivX Media Server，可以直接把電腦裏的視頻、音樂和照片流播到兼容 DLNA 的設備上，包括 PS3 和三星 Galaxy 系列產品。還有DivX To Go®功能，把電腦視頻拷到U盤、刻成光碟等在DivX設備上觀看

。DivX轉換器是首款支持轉換視頻文件到4K H.265的免費軟件。不僅根據DivX等級有預設配置文件可進行一鍵轉碼，還可以自行調節編碼設置（包括分辨率、文件大小和比特率）。DivX網頁播放器可在瀏覽器上直接觀看高達4K分辨率的DivX視頻，已經被應用在歐洲一些正版視頻網站，10.2版本以後加入了DivX Live實時流播功能。編解碼包包含了一整套編解碼器、過濾器和分離器。在10.2版本已經把編解碼包從安裝包裏拿掉，以求讓整個軟件安裝包更精簡。

DIVX軟件版本

前期有三種DivX編碼器：DivX3.x是最著名的而且到處都有，它又稱為DivX，實際上就是Microsoft的MPEG-4v3Codec的Hack版本。第二個是DivX4，DivXNetworksInc.完全重新編寫的作品，但是由於他們又推出了DivX5已經不用了。DivX5提供更好的圖像質量和更多的功能，經過不斷努力，當年的DivX6也已成為主流

。2009年1月6日，DivX7發佈，其中增加的H.264視頻，AAC格式音頻和Matroska容器支持，大大改善了原來的格式限制

。2013年9月5日，DivX 10.0發佈，其中提供了DivX HEVC Plug-in，成為第一款為HEVC提供免費的視頻播放器和視頻轉換器的軟件，激活後即可撥放或將其他格式視頻轉換為HEVC視頻。2014年1月，DivX 10.1新增支持4K超高清視頻的編解碼；4月，DivX 10.2發佈，進一步改良了HEVC和AVC的解碼器，並新增DivX Live至DivX網頁播放器中，讓用户可以直接通過瀏覽器觀看實時串流的HEVC視頻

DIVX認證的設備

因為互聯網上的數字視頻非常多樣化且不斷變化，而人們越來越習慣於在電腦以外各種各樣的屏幕上觀看視頻，並且對視頻的畫面品質和觀看體驗要求越來越高，這也催生並壯大了DivX Certified(R) 的設備認證機制

。按照屏幕尺寸大小、所能支持的分辨率高低、是否可以聯網流播，從手機、平板、DVD機、機頂盒、PS3到藍光機、全高清（1080p）電視機，再到超高清（4K）電視機，DivX都有對應的認證等級與其匹配。圖2表格列舉了由低到高的等級，高等級向下兼容低等級的功能。通過認證的機器都確保能夠高品質播放相應等級的DivX視頻。

鑑別一台電子產品是否通過DivX認證，可以在機身、包裝盒、產品手冊、説明書上找DivX標識。大多數三星手機都是DivX認證設備，DivX VOD代碼可以在“關於設備-＞法律信息-＞授權設置“找到。

截至2013年9月，已經有超過3萬個型號的10億台消費電子設備通過DivX認證——DivX功能是所有主流品牌DVD播放器的標配；所有主流藍光品牌廠商都是簽約夥伴；全球前十位電視品牌中有9家都是DivX的合作伙伴。

DIVX視頻傳輸技術

隨着互聯網帶寬的提高，流播的普及，以及OTT多屏應用的興起，提供視頻內容的服務提供商、消費電子產品製造商、視頻網站、內容提供商以及應用開發商不得不面對跨平台發佈視頻的挑戰。因此，DivX整合在數字視頻製作和播放的技術，推出了DivX Video Service——端對端、可擴展的視頻交付解決方案

。解決方案包含了跨越多平台、多設備，交付高質量視頻所需的組件，其中核心組件包括【內容準備】對視頻編碼、加密、封裝，為傳輸作準備；【管理】通過DRM（數字版權管理），對視頻進行播放方式的授權、串流的設定和DRM密鑰的播放許可；【播放】分為流播和下載兩種方式，流播的技術是DivX Plus Streaming（自適應流播），都可以在電腦、手機和其他DivX認證的消費電子設備上播放。

除視頻點播（VOD）之外，DivX於2014年CES推出全新兼容MPEG-DASH的DivX Live HEVC Streaming，為直播節目進行實時傳輸；並於2014年3月東京・春・音樂節上進行首秀，讓全球觀眾通過DivX網頁瀏覽器實時收看音樂節現場。

DIVX使用案例

從內容提供商到運營商，再到OTT服務商，全球已經有一些成功的DivX視頻解決方案使用案例。離我們最近的是中國移動香港攜手美亞（總部在香港的電影娛樂公司），在香港地區為中國移動3G和4G用户提供的UTV app，裏面8個娛樂頻道的點播採用的就是DivX Plus Streaming技術，以期讓用户獲得流暢、高清的移動觀影體驗
